At WellPharmaRx, we offer the Influenza (flu) vaccination for kids, teens, adults and seniors. Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. The best way and most important step to prevent the flu is by getting the Influenza (flu) vaccine shot. CDC recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older get the Influenza (flu) vaccine shot each year. The Influenza (Flu) vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations.

Tetanus Vaccination
At WellPharmaRx, we offer the Tetanus vaccination to help prevent infections caused by bacteria called Clostridium tetani. When these bacteria enter the body, they produce a toxin that causes painful muscle contractions. Another name for tetanus is “lockjaw”. It often causes a person’s neck and jaw muscles to lock, making it hard to open the mouth or swallow. CDC recommends tetanus vaccination for all babies and children, preteens and teens, and adults.

Whooping Cough (Pertussis) Vaccination
At WellPharmaRx, we offer the Whooping Cough (pertussis) vaccination to help prevent whooping cough, also known as pertussis. Whooping cough is a respiratory disease caused by Bordetella pertussis bacteria. People of all ages can get this serious illness but is most dangerous for babies. Whooping Cough (pertussis) is a respiratory disease caused by Bordetella pertussis bacteria. Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect against pertussis. Make sure you and your loved ones are up to date with your whooping cough vaccine. CDC recommends whooping cough vaccination for all babies and children, preteens, and pregnant women. Adults who have never received one should also get a Tdap Immunization shot.

At WellPharmaRx, we offer the Diphtheria vaccination to help prevent diphtheria, a serious infection caused by strains of bacteria called Corynebacterium diphtheriae that make toxin. If you get Diphtheria it can lead to difficulty breathing, heart rhythm problems, and even death. CDC recommends Diphtheria vaccination for infants, children, teens, and adults to prevent diphtheria.

Tdap Immunization Vaccination (Ages 7 and older)
At WellPharmaRx, we offer the Tdap Immunization vaccination as many school systems now require fifth and sixth graders to receive it. The Tdap Immunization is a combination of three vaccines filled into one single shot that provide protection against Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Whooping Cough (pertussis). Tdap Immunization is for children 7 years and older. Preteens should get one shot of Tdap between the ages of 11 and 12 years to boost their immunity. Adults should get a Tdap shot every 10 years. Pregnant women should get a Tdap shot during the early part of the 3rd trimester of every pregnancy. CDC recommends Tdap Immunization for everyone.

DTaP Immunization Vaccination (Ages 2mos up to 6 years old)
At WellPharmaRx, we offer DTaP Immunization vaccinations for babies and children. DTaP Immunization is a combination of three vaccines filled into one single shot that provide protection against Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Whooping Cough (pertussis). CDC recommends the DTaP Immunization shot for babies and children at the following ages: 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 15 through 18 months and 4 through 6 years. Babies need 3 shots of DTaP to build up high levels of protection against diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough. Then, young children need 2 booster shots to maintain that protection through early childhood. Talk to your or your child’s doctor about the DTaP Immunization vaccination.
COVID-19 Paxlovid Treatment
At WellPharmaRx, we can prescribe Nirmatrelvir which is packaged with ritonavir (known as Paxlovid). Paxlovid is an FDA-approved oral antiviral pill for people for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults who are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19, including hospitalization or death. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) results from infection with novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and manifests as respiratory illness in infected individuals. COVID-19 is typically spread through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are: fever, cough, headache, fatigue, muscle or body aches, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea or diarrhea. At WellPharmaRx, we sell the self-testing Flowflex COVID-19 Antigen Home Test, which is an easy-to-use, rapid nasal swab test that detects an active COVID-19 infection in 15 minutes. The Flowflex COVID-19 Antigen Home Test is FDA authorized for nonprescription home use with self-collected direct anterior nasal swab specimens from individuals aged 14 years and older or with adult-collected anterior nasal swab samples from individuals aged 2 years or older. Flowflex comes with a 21-month to 24-month self-life extension granted by the FDA as of March 15, 2023.
